Top Tips for Hosting a Super Bowl Party at Your Home in 2018

The Super Bowl is a great time of the year to get together with friends and family to watch football's biggest game together. Whether you're hosting just a few people or having a large gathering, these top tips will help you have a great Super Bowl party.

1) Make Sure You Have Enough Space Around Your TV

If your living room is small, which in Northern Virginia can happen, the expertise of a great interior designer will help you figure out the best way to seat as many people as comfortably as possible.

Don't hesitate to rent some furniture for the occasion. Typically it is not that expensive to rent furniture and can make a big difference. Anytime you want an entertaining space in your home it's best to think about how people can sit together.

2) Find a Great Caterer or Make Food in Advance

Kitchens are great for small occasions, but sometimes they don't provide the space for a big party! Did you know that kitchens are one of the best spaces to remodel before you sell?

If the thought of cooking all that food by yourself is scary then you may ask guests to bring potluck food, while others prefer to cater or call the local pizza place. We reached out to our friend and Compass agent, Trevor Moore, to get his recommendations on his favorite pizza spots. He quickly responded with "&Pizza and Pupatella are my favorite go-to pizza spots!!"

Whatever you do, make sure the food is good and easy to eat.

3) Decorate for the Occasion

Whether your favorite or least favorite team is playing in the Super Bowl, decorations help get everyone in the spirit.

You can go all out from balloons to napkins and even foods or drinks inspired by each team. Some ideas for this year are:

Philadelphia themed- cheesesteaks, hoagies, pretzels, and Yuengling

Boston themed- lobster rolls, fried cod, clam chowder, and Samuel Adams

4) Don't Forget About the Small Details

From parking logistics to getting everyone home afterwards, don't forget the small details to make your party great.

Some Northern Virginia neighborhood rules might be particular about when or where people can park. Let your guests know ahead of time what they can expect.

You may find that as you go through the process of preparing your home that there are some changes you want to make. A great real estate agent will help you get the most out renovations to your space.

Hope you have a great New England Patriots vs. Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl party!
